Lovely fruit salad, Kathy.
Here is a nice “Adult” variation:
at the end put in 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/4 – 1/2 cup of Grand Marnier liquer.
Yes, it’s a bit “chi chi”, but the Grand Marnier can often be bought in little “airplane” sized bottles, and (unlike here in Canada) booze is pretty cheap in the USA.
Grand Marnier is a cognac that has orange extracts. What the added sugar does is make the fruit salad “sweat” (not just sweet), and so the salad makes it’s own saunce, and with the Grand Marnier, it adds a lively boozy-orange flavor.

Thanks Will, this sounds great! Have you ever tried a splash of Grand Marnier in a Mimosa? It’s delicious!

Hello!I was thinking of making mini fruit salads for school and was wondering can pineapple be frozen?Because i was thinking of buying fresh pineapple, cutting it into chunks, popping it in the freezer and simply defrosting it when i want to make a fruit salad. Is this possible?

Hi Roxana, Freezing pineapple is not a great idea-sorry about that! The texture doesn’t hold up so I would not recommend freezing it. On the other hand, if you wanted to throw some small frozen chunks into a blender when making a smoothie, you would be fine! To learn more about How to Cut a Pineapple click here.

Hello Kathy! This is one of my favorite videos
What other fruit would you recommend instead of the melon? The thing is…I don’t like melon!

Hello Ana,
You could replace the cantaloupe with any fruit you like: mango, blueberries, apple or orange slices. Do keep in mind that there are may different types of melons to choose from as well. Have fun with it!

Great tips and recipe. I never knew how to keep bananas from turning brown and I thought you had to peel a kiwi. Thanks!

Great video! Question – how long can you keep this fruit salad stored? Can it be prepared the night before?

Amanda, cover the fruit salad with plastic wrap and store it overnight in the refrigerator.
