You can pretty much toss in whatever combination of veggies, fish or meat that you have in the fridge and you're set! I can't tell you how many times I've been in a bind for dinner, then found that I had enough bits and pieces to make a decent stir fry. As straightforward as making a stir fry is, here are some additional tips to get you rolling:

Soy sauce is popular on stir fries, but you might want to avoid it if you have thyroid problems. I use a large fry pan when stir frying. I keep debating about buying one. Does anyone have any thoughts on why I should or should not get one? Drew My thoughts on owning a wok: You'll love it. Yes, large frying pans do work, but the tossing and turning of veggies in a large wok is part of the fun. They are good for steaming veggies and other uses as well. Thanks Drew. I really think twice before buying any new equipment as I have a really tiny kitchen and storage space is a problem. I really do think I should get a wok.
